What changes (and what doesn't) in the conversion

The conversion draws your JPG onto a canvas at its original pixel dimensions and re-encodes it as PNG with no quality setting to adjust, because PNG is always lossless. That also means it can't undo anything: any compression artifacts already baked into the JPG — blocky shadows, softened text, color banding — carry straight through to the PNG. You're changing the container, not restoring lost detail. It's also worth knowing that a JPG has no transparency information at all, so the resulting PNG is fully opaque; converting the format doesn't create an alpha channel where none existed.

Things to know before converting

Expect the PNG to be larger than the source JPG, sometimes several times larger, because lossless encoding stores far more data than JPG's lossy compression.
If you need transparency in the final image, convert to PNG first and then erase the background in an image editor — this tool can't add transparency that wasn't in the original JPG.
Dimensions are preserved exactly; nothing is cropped, rotated or resized during conversion.
A full batch can be downloaded as one ZIP once every image finishes converting.
