What is Crop PDF?
Crop PDF lets you trim away margins, scan borders or other unwanted edges by drawing a crop area directly on a page preview. You can apply the crop to a single page or proportionally to the entire document.

When to use this
A book page scanned with a wide black border around the text is a typical case. Drag on the page preview to draw a rectangle that hugs just the printed text, leave "All pages" selected, and click Apply Crop — the same crop proportions are applied to every page's own dimensions, so it still lines up even if a few pages in the scan are a slightly different size. To fix only one odd page instead, use the arrows to preview it, draw the box, and choose "Only this page" before applying.
Tips for cropping a PDF
- Cropping sets the page's CropBox through pdf-lib's
setCropBox— it only changes the visible and printable area. The original page content outside the box stays in the file and isn't deleted. - A drawn rectangle smaller than about 3% of the page's width or height in either direction is discarded automatically rather than applied, to avoid an accidental sliver crop from a stray click.
- Use the ← → page arrows to check how the crop looks on a few different pages before applying it to the whole document — "All pages" applies the same rectangle you last drew, not a per-page selection.
Is Crop PDF safe?
Yes. The crop rectangle you draw is applied through pdf-lib's setCropBox entirely in your browser — a sliver under 3% of the page's width or height is auto-discarded, and your PDF is never uploaded to a server.
